Craft Weaving
From the publisher:
"When the weather gets colder the perfect accessory to beat the chill is a shawl. Create a variety of fashionable handwoven shawls with this Best of Handwoven eBook!
Weaving a shawl is a very satisfying experience. A shawl can be almost any width—almost any loom is therefore wide enough. Because shawls are usually wider than scarves, they provide the joy of watching a lot of fabric dance before your eyes as it grows, pick by pick. Almost any weave structure and any yarn can be used for a shawl, so you can experiment with yarn substitutions and color wraps for variations exploration beyond the instructions given here. Shawls are rectangles, so no sewing is required. Shawls love fringe, thereby inviting you to twist, knot, or braid. Perhaps best of all is that from the moment you remove a shawl from the loom, you have a serious piece of cloth to wrap around you for warmth and beauty.
Whether you enjoy weaving on four shafts, eight shafts, or both, you will find the shawl (or shawls) for you in this project eBook. These patterns have come straight from past issues of Handwoven, but have been revised and revamped, so you will find the projects are now worked for four shafts or eight shafts, something not available in the magazine!
The shawls projects use a variety of weave structures, such as M’s and O’s, undulating twill, log cabin, Atwater-Bronson lace, and more! Weaving instructions are full of design and color ideas, inviting you to study your stash, make color wraps, and plan your own color sequences and more."
